The anatomy of a Vinted listing that sells
A Vinted listing has three parts that matter for sales: the photos, the title, and the description. The category fields matter too, but they're a checkbox exercise — fill them in and move on.
This guide is about the words. Photos we've covered in the Vinted UK beginner guide; if your photos are bad, no listing copy will save you.
The job of your title is to get clicked. The job of your description is to remove the buyer's last reason not to buy.
The Vinted title formula
Every selling Vinted title follows this pattern:
[Brand] + [item type] + [key descriptor] + [colour] + [size]
That's it. No exclamation marks. No "BARGAIN!!!" No "must go quick". The Vinted search algorithm matches keywords, and emotional fluff dilutes them.

What gets cut
Cut: "lovely", "stunning", "beautiful", "RRP £X", "open to offers". They're noise. They don't get searched and they make you look amateur.
Keep: brand, item type, colour, size, condition descriptors only if unusual ("dead stock", "vintage", "BNWT").
The 5-line description template
Five lines. No more. Buyers skim.
TemplateLine 1 — Brand + item + sizing notes ("fits a 6-8")
Line 2 — Condition and any flaws (be honest)
Line 3 — Why you're selling
Line 4 — Composition / care if relevant
Line 5 — Postage info ("Posted within 1 working day via InPost")
This works because it answers, in order: what is it, is it worth buying, can I trust you, will it last, when will it arrive? Those are the five questions buyers always ask.
Vinted doesn't expose hashtag fields the way Depop does, but you can include them at the end of the description. Use 3–5, no more.
Good hashtags: the brand, the style descriptor, the era. Examples: #zara #cropped #y2k, #nike #airforce1 #trainers.
Bad hashtags: #cheap #bargain #musthave. Vinted ignores these and they look spammy.

Things that kill listings
- "Open to offers" in the title — wastes the keyword space
- "Bought from selfridges" without a photo of the receipt
- "Hardly worn" — every Vinted listing says this. Say a specific number ("worn 5 times")
- Five sentences saying the same thing in different words
- ALL CAPS
- "Bundle deals available" in every listing — say it once in your bio instead
- Pricing the same item across 3 listings at different prices ("psychological pricing"). It just makes you look desperate.
